ORDINANCE NO. 2/2003 :REGARDING ELIGIBILITY  AND ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS

PREAMBLE

1.    The decisions taken/directives issued by the University authorities, with a view to implement the policy decisions taken by Government of India, University Grants Commission, Government of Maharashtra; various Central Councils/Associations of the respective faculties shall be applicable to all the students of the affiliated colleges/institutions.  The Principal/ Dean of College/ Institution should ensure that, the eligibility rules and the rules regarding grant of terms as framed by the University and various notifications issued from time to time, are scrupulously followed by them while giving the admissions, as well as forwarding the documents related with the eligibility, examinations etc.  failing which they shall be liable for action.

ELIGIBILITY

2.                  2.                   A student passing (10+2) Higher Secondary Schools Certificate Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology; conducted by the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination, Board of Maharashtra State or an equivalent examination from outside Maharashtra State recognized by the Association of Indian Universities or the Council of Boards of School Examinations in India, shall be eligible for admission to the First Year Class as per eligibility rules framed from time to time by this University. The student shall apply to the University in a prescribed form duly enclosing all the relevant documents as prescribed by the University and the Competent Authority for getting Eligibility alongwith requisite amount of Eligibility fee as prescribed by the University.  The date of receipt of eligibility form at the University office shall be treated as the date of grant of eligibility in respect of seats from Management/Foreign National/Person of Indian Origin/Non Resident Indian.  Eligibility Fee once paid shall not be refunded.  Notifications/circulars issued by the University for regularizing the admission/eligibility shall be scrupulously followed by the students and the college authorities.

3.     Application for provisional statement of eligibility shall be as per FORM-A appended to this Ordinance.

4.     Application for enrollment for students admitted to the University shall be as per FORM- B appended with this Ordinance.

5.     Application for enrolment of students who have passed qualifying examination of Board other than the Board of Maharashtra State Examination shall be as per FORM-C appended with this Ordinance. -.

 6.   The Eligibility form/s sent in violation of the prescribed procedure as laid down by the University interalia the eligibility form/s sent by the Principal/Dean who is not approved by the University, shall be summarily rejected at the cost and consequences of the college authorities.  Therefore, with a view to ensure non-appearance of the student to the examination without obtaining the eligibility certificate, it shall be the responsibility of the Principal/Dean of Colleges/Institutions to report to the Controller of Examinations the cases of student, where eligibility forms are filled in and fees are paid but eligibility is not received before the end of the first term. Further, examination forms of such students shall not be forwarded to the University unless a special permission of the Controller of Examinations is obtained for the purpose.  Still, any student who manages to appear for the examination with malafide interest without obtaining eligibility, such a student as well as the Principal/Dean/Head of Institution/College shall be collectively held responsible for violating the norms as laid down by the University.  The University reserves the right to cancel such admission and may initiate appropriate action against the respective college authorities.   

7.    In special circumstances, failure to obtain eligibility within the stipulated period may result in late declaration of the examination result. In such an eventuality, the student and/or the Head of the Institution, as the case may be, shall be held responsible for such occurrence and the student shall have no right to claim admission to higher class. The result of such student will not be declared by the University unless and until the concerned student obtain final eligibility from the University. The university shall not be held responsible in this regard one way or the other, as the said situation would be the result of inaction on the part of student/Institution by all means. 

               

8. However, the prescribed documents, will not be returned if attested copies of the Degree Certificate, passing Certificate, Attendance Certificate, Caste Certificate, Transfer Certificate & Statement of marks etc. are not attached alongwith the Eligibility form.  Therefore, the Principal/Dean of the respective institution shall take every care to submit the attested copies of relevant documents while submitting the eligibility forms to the University.

10.  If a student is transferred from one college to another in the same course of studies; the eligibility fee remitted to the University through the first college shall be considered for grant of eligibility in the other college and the student shall not be required to remit the eligibility fee in the other college.

11.  All types of fees and dues payable to the University shall be acceptable in the form of Demand Draft drawn on Nationalized Bank issued in favour of the Registrar. Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.  Any payment made in any other form shall not be accepted.

12. Eligibility form shall be available on website of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik (www.muhsnashik.com) the same may be downloaded.

13. Earlier Ordinance No- 11/1999 stands repealed from the date of issuance of this ordinance.
