LIFTING OF LIMIT ON PERMISSIBLE ATTEMPTS AND ON THE PERIOD OF PASSING THE FIRST PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION FOR MBBS, BDS, B.SC. (NURSING),    

 PC B.SC.(NURSING), BPTH, BOTH, BASLP/B.SC. (HLS) AND BPO COURSES.

 

            As per Academic Council Resolution No.307/2003 dt.08.12.2003 based on MCI Notification No 155 dated 30.09.2003 the limit on permissible attempts and on the period of passing the first professional examination as mentioned in Rule 56.1 of Ordinance 1/2002 (Amended) is permanently removed with effect from the June 2004 and all subsequent examinations for Courses mentioned above.  However, for BHMS, GR.BHMS, BAMS & BUMS the present Rule 56.1 of Ordinance 1/2002 (Amended) will continue to stand, till such time due permission is accorded by respective Central Councils.  Ordinance 1/2002 will be suitably amended.  Students of all batches and courses mentioned above adversely affected by the said rule will be allowed to appear with effect from the Jun 2004 examination and subsequent examinations subject to meeting the following conditions :-

 

(i)                  Students of 2000 year Batch and students of the 1998 and 1999 batches who have already appeared for Oct 2003 Exam  :        Forms to be forwarded through their respective colleges with recommendation of respective Dean/Principal of the college within the prescribed period as per regular procedure.

 

(ii)                Students of the 1998 & 1999 Batches who have not appeared for Oct 2003       Examination :       Examination forms and fees to be forwarded as mentioned above along with the two undermentioned documents : -

 

(a)              Gap Certificate - As an affidavit covering the time gap between the last examination and the current examination. It should clearly specify that he/she is not simultaneously prosecuting another graduate course of any university at the time of submission of the form.   

(b)              Certificate from the Dean of the respective college. - Certifying that the vacancy to absorb the student exists presently in the sanctioned intake capacity of the college pertaining to the students of the respective batch.

 

Students of the 1998 and 1999 batches of the above mentioned courses only can avail of this facility uptill Summer 2005 examinations.  Thereafter no new students of the 1998 and 1999 batches will be allowed to avail of this opportunity.  However, students of the 2000, 1999 and 1998 batches, of these courses only who continue to remain failed uptill the Summer 2005, examination but have appeared in any of the University examinations held between Oct 2003 and Summer 2005, will continue to be entitled unlimited number of chances and period for passing the First year examination in the respective faculty.  Students of the 1998 and 1999 batches are required to submit the GAP Certificate and Certificate of the Dean as mentioned above only once on their first appearance at the said examination.  Thereafter, the procedure stipulated in para (i) is required to be followed for all subsequent examinations in case the GAP between two examinations is not more than one year.
