It is hereby notified for the
information of all the Deans/Principals & students of nursing
colleges/institutes affiliated with the University that due to receipt of
representations from the students demanding therein lifting of ban on the
number of attempts to pass M. Sc. (Nursing) course as per the criteria laid
down by the Indian Nursing Council (i.e.
Maximum number of attempts per subject is three inclusive of first
attempt. The maximum period to complete the course successfully should not
exceed four years), the proposal in this regard was placed before the
Academic council at its meeting held on 15/05/2010.
During the meeting, the matter
was discussed at length. The Academic Council thereupon adopted resolution and
in consonance with the decision of the Council in this regard, it is further
notified that-
1) There is no ban on number of
attempts for M. Sc. Nursing Course in respect of those students who were admitted
for the course up to the year 2009 only,
2) The criterion of maximum 3
attempts has been made applicable to those students who have been admitted
for the course during the year 2010 and onwards.
and
3) Additional attempt will not be
permitted to those students who fail after availing of all the three attempts
and enrollment of student having failed to get through during three attempts will
be treated as cancelled in respect of this course.
Please bring the contents of
this notification to the notice of all the concerned teachers & students
accordingly.
